"Shark" Magnetic Bottle Opener and
"Dish Up" A Ceramic Tableware Set
won Good Design 2001
This ABS Plastic Shark bottle opener takes on the form of
a shark's dorsal f i n . I t i s fitted with a magnetic core for handy
storage on the refrigerator door. And a functionally innovative
design, Dish up, a set of three free standing dishes each have
a simple yet effective in-built standing device… a wonderful
solution for drying just about anywhere that's tight for space.
Shark and Dish Up are the original Thai design to receive
the Good Design 2001 Award in the category of Household
Product from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture
and Design. Both of them are now displayed in the museum's
permanent design collection.
The museum's historic GOOD DESIGN program was
founded in Chicago in 1950 by Edgar J. Kaufmann, Jr. with the
participation of some of America's most important designers:
Eero Saarinen, Charls and Ray Eames, Alexander Girard,
George Nelson, Florence Knoll, Harry Bertoia, Finn Juhl, and
